Welcome to the International Congress on Family and Society, organized by the International University of Catalonia’s Institute of Advanced Family Studies (IESF). This scholarly meeting is offered to professionals, family orientation experts, and anyone interested in issues affecting the family as an institution.

The International University of Catalonia (UIC), promoted by the Catalan Family Foundation, is a private institution that seeks to serve society through the broad university education it offers and the quality research it promotes.  The UIC, which has 4,000 students on two campuses (Barcelona and Sant Cugat del Vallès), currently imparts 17 undergraduate degrees (some students obtain double degrees), 6 doctoral degrees, 20 masters degrees (6 of which are official) and a broad range of post-graduate studies and continuing education programs.

The UIC is located in Barcelona, one of the most attractive, cosmopolitan cities in the world, boasting an excellent Mediterranean climate, an open coastline, and rich history, culture, architecture and urban planning. Barcelona is the ideal place to spend a few rewarding days to complement the study, dialogue and reflection of the Congress hosted there.
